About

The Arkansas College Media Association (ACMA) was founded in 1929 and annually convenes to recognize the best of the state’s collegiate media output. The name Arkansas College Media Association recognizes that students are involved in not only print journalism, like newspapers, magazines, and yearbooks but also broadcast stations, websites, social media, and podcasts.

This organization conducts the conference which includes special guest speakers from the industry, break-out sessions of specialized content areas provide cutting-edge information for student journalists preparing to enter the media profession and provides a luncheon before the awards are issued.  This event is held on the first Friday of April and participating universities and colleges within the state rotate hosting duties to allow students to visit many areas of the Natural State.

We also provide a separate Listserve for email discussions among the faculty advisers of member organizations and Facebook Groups for members.  You may also follow ACMA on Facebook @ArkCMA.

Membership in ACMA is open to any Arkansas educational institution offering two or more years of academic work accepted for a college degree.

  • All Arkansas Colleges, universities media outlets are eligible as long as the media was produced by students.
