SPJ Scholarship

The Society of Professional Journalists — Arkansas Pro Chapter Scholarship/Educationcropped-arkansasspj-logo-simple-black-copy-no-words Committee asks your help in identifying students from your program for two scholarships.

Each of the $1,000 scholarships will go to a student enrolled during the 2020-2021 academic year. It will go to a student who is academically qualified, who needs financial aid, and who shows promise.

Students may submit completed applications, transcripts, work samples, and essays to the committee via an online application at tinyurl.com/spjscholarship, email or traditional mail. Materials must be emailed or have a postmark no later than April 1, 2020.

We will announce the winner at Arkansas SPJ’s Diamond Journalism awards celebration later this year.

The scholarship guidelines, application form, and flyers are linked here as attachments. They may be posted, duplicated, and/or forwarded to qualified students.

Half the scholarship money will be sent at the start of the fall semester. The remainder will be sent for the spring term. Checks will be made payable to the student and his/her school.
