A few clarifications from this week:
- Contest Period — Entries must have been published between March 11, 2011 and March 12, 2012. If the publication comes out after that time, it will be entered into the 2013 contest. This typically affects yearbooks and magazines, e.g. this year the judges will view the 2011 yearbook.
- Newspaper Headlines — An entry can be any headline that appeared on a news, sports or feature story, or on an opinion piece (editorial, column, review, etc.). The headline will be judge based on clarity, creativeness and, above all, accuracy.
- Yearbook & Magazine Spreads — If you’re submitting particular spreads for a category, cut them out of the magazine by using a razor blade. The gutter is the space between the pages where the binding keeps the magazine together. Tape the two pages together at the gutter such that the judge will view the two-page spread.
